Architects’ Fees
On the subject of Architects’ fees – We like to charge a fixed fee to give our clients (and us) some certainty.
Architects fees can vary greatly depending on the size and scope of the project, as well as the location. For smaller projects, some architects may charge an hourly rate, while for larger projects, they may charge a percentage of the total project cost or even a flat fee. Size and complexity will understandably alter the fee. Hourly rates increase with experience and expect £90-£200 an hour.
You can see our architect fees for certain services below:
Architect Consultation – find out what it will cost, planning considerations, buildability and our feedback on your ideas – it’s ridiculous value!
Planning Policy Tester – recommended as a first step if you think planning could be your biggest hurdle. It’s a private conversation between you at the planners – no nosy neighbours allowed!
Your Dreams in a Sketch Service – help with visualising your dream, persuade your partner, make some decisions – it’s all wrapped up in this great package.
Our fees
After the architects consultation above, we provide you with clear pricing and a detailed fee proposal.
We help you to create a good brief, so that we start the project with clear expectations. We give you ballpark build costs at the very beginning so that there are no nasty surprises.
We are able to offer a full range of services from full design and planning to testing an idea with the planning department.
Full service Architect’s fees
I’ve laid out some examples below to give you an idea:
A new-build barn style dwelling, around 200m2 would be £31,000 including design, planning and up to build start.
A 25m2 home extension and including refurbishment of 90m2 of the existing house would likely be around £18,000 including design, planning and up to build start.
If we can help you in any way please do get in touch. One of our approachable and friendly team will be very happy to help.
